BPI Ltd. (BPI d.o.o.) was established in Maribor, Republic of Slovenia in 1990 by five partners. The founders were five top engineers who wanted to push the road and infrastructural design to a higher level. The company made a huge leap forward with introduction of C-Plan road designing software.
Being the first engineering company in Slovenia, that used CAD software for road design, we were asked to help develop upcoming versions of C-Plan. Because of all that and the implementation of the National Motorway Construction Programme (NMCP) in the Republic of Slovenia, BPI Ltd. was soon established as the leading motorway designer in Slovenia, with well over 200 kilometers of designed motorways with corresponding ramps, junctions and infrastructure. Being so, the company was destined to grow fast, but with constant technological improvements and innovation, it still managed to keep the core of top of the trade engineers, focusing on quality instead of quantity. To keep it so, we developed our own cost calculation software package WINSIF, that was soon used by vast number of engineering companies in Slovenia.
In 1998 we made the 100 fastest growing companies of Slovenia list (Gazelle), as highest ranking civil engineering company that makes its revenue solemnly with project design, project management and auditing.
BPI Ltd. was among the first engineering companies in Slovenia to start using the roundabouts as a part of a solution to increase safety and reduce the number of conflict points at intersections. Years later, we are again the first company introducing improved 2 lane turbo roundabouts to Slovene public, with DHV Milieu en Infrastructuur BV of Netherlands as consultants. Our engineers designed the road and infrastructure plans for the award winning Verige bridge over Kotorski bay near Boka Kotorska in Montenegro in 1999. (the bridge itself was designed by another company).
We work closely together with other renown engineering companies in Republic of Slovenia and abroad, to provide best solutions for motorway, road, bridge, environmental and infrastructural design. Our client list consists among others, of state government agencies and companies (such as DARS d.d., DDC Ltd., Ministry of transport, The Directorate of the Republic of Slovenia for Roads , etc.), municipal governments (City of Maribor, Town of Lenart, etc.) and other large development and investment companies (MID holding GmbH Austria, Mercator SVS, etc.). We also employ Responsible auditors that can perform auditing (Responsible auditing) of project documentation made by other engineering companies. We work with latest licensed software such as Platea, C-Plan, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, AutoTURN, ParkCAD, RDV, etc. and have implemented a web collaboration software (www.bpiportal.com) to increase efficiency in project management. To increase the quality of our work and compatibility with our partners at home and abroad, we decided to implement ISO 9001:2000 Quality management systems. We strive for a high level of professionalism and top quality while adhering to the agreed deadlines.
Our employees are also active as consultants for road design in the Balkans region for the U.S. agency USAID and company Booz Allen Hamilton.
